Class IV Lasers in Physical Therapy

Class IV Lasers in Physical Therapy Laser is an acronym for:  L ight  A mplification from the  S timulated  E mission of  R adiation Laser Classifications  Lasers are classified into four broad areas depending on the potential for causing biological damage.  When you see a laser, it should be labeled with one of these four class designations:  Class I These lasers cannot emit laser radiation at known hazard levels.  Class I.a This is a special designation that applies only to lasers that are "not intended for viewing," such as a supermarket laser scanner. The upper power limit of Class I.A. is 4.0 mW. Class II These are low-power visible lasers that emit above Class I levels but at a radiant power not above 1 mW.  The concept is that the human aversion reaction to bright light will protect a person.  Class III.a These are intermediate-power lasers (cw: 1-5 mW), which are hazardous only for intrabeam viewing. Most pen-like po...

Affordable 980nm Diode High Intensity Laser Therapy Equipment Back Treatment Affordable 980nm Diode Laser Back Treatment For Lower Back Pain How Laser Therapy Works All light is composed of photons. Photons are small packets of light energy—in the form of waves— with a defined wavelength and frequency. Photon energy is able to more effectively penetrate the skin and underlying structures, therefore accelerating the healing process. Light travels at a constant speed and oscillate up and down as it moves forward. However, all light is not the same. It is measured in wavelengths, with each wavelength of light representing a different color of the spectrum. The number of oscillations per second represents the frequency of each wavelength; shorter waves have a greater frequency than longer waves. Laser energy is coherent (well-ordered photons), monochromatic (single-color) light energy. When produced as a narrow, bright beam. Laser light holds its intensity unti...

DIODES LASER IN ENT SURGERY 810/980nm

Image
DIODES LASER IN ENT SURGERY The LASER, a surgical instrument introduced in the 70’s in ENT surgery, has been object of ceaseless improvements thanks to constant technological evolution. Diode LASER contributes to a more selective and less invasive surgery, minimizing the risk and post-operative period in hospital, it is indeed able to transmit to the fabric up to 60 W of LASER energy at a wavelength of 810 nm; this ensures a precise cutting/coagulation and a excellent tissue vaporization. The possibility of using different sizes optical fibers (400, 600 and 1000 nm), both in “contact” and “no contact” modality, allows a very effective use in endoscopy. Technological progress on the LASER, and the Diode LASER employment at the Department of Otolaryngology have made interesting to report our experiences with this surgery means in several pathology in ENT. E.N.T: laser applications LASER in the otology field was used to perform tympanotomy and for the placement of ventilation t...
